The 9th matchday of the Senegalese Ligue 1 promises to be decisive at all levels. A top-of-the-table clash between US Gorée and Casa Sports, strategic battles at the top of the table between AJEL and Teungueth FC, and crucial matches for survival: a busy weekend awaits local football fans.

The Senegalese Ligue 1 is playing its 9th round of matches this weekend. Due to the Africa Cup of Nations and the Senegalese national team's match, all games will exceptionally be played on Sunday and Monday.

League leaders US Gorée, who have only managed one point in their last two matches, host Casa Sports, third with 13 points. This top-of-the-table clash will see first place on the line decided at stake.

Still near the top of the table, AJEL of Rufisque (2nd, 14 points) hosts Wallydaan of Thiès. The Rufisque side, just one point behind the leader, will be aiming for a victory to seize the top spot.

At the Mawade Wade Stadium, Linguère of Saint-Louis faces Jaraaf in one of the classic matches of Senegalese football.
