Ligue 1 : Habib Bèye réduit la voilure face aux critiques sur sa communication
Under fire in recent days, Habib Bèye has chosen to change his tone. Two days before the match between Olympique de Marseille and OGC Nice, counting towards the 31st round of Ligue 1, the Marseille coach was particularly brief in his press conference this Friday. This approach was a deliberate response from the manager, a direct reaction to criticisms of his overly concise communication style.
"When I speak, people tell me I explain too much. When I describe, they tell me I describe too much," he told reporters. Before adding: "Today, I'm giving you the bare minimum."
Behind this stance, Bèye denounces a form of contradiction in the expectations surrounding the role of coach. "We ask the coach to speak out, but when he does, it becomes a problem," he continued.
The former Senegalese international hopes, however, that the most important thing will be decided on the pitch. "Hoping that on Sunday, we'll get the maximum," he said, referring to the expected performance of his team against Nice.
This statement comes a few days after Pascal Dupraz's criticism on RMC. The former coach had mocked Bèye's explanations, deeming them too complex to be truly understandable.
