Ligue 2 played its 23rd round of matches this weekend. League leaders Essamaye FC (38 points) were held to a 0-0 draw by Teranga SC. Despite the result, the Ziguinchor-based club maintains its two-point lead over second-place AS Douanes (36 points), who also saw their push for first place halted after a 0-0 draw against DUC.

Taking advantage of the poor performances of the two leading teams, Diambars FC is closing in on the top of the standings. The Saly-based club, victorious against AS Kaffrine (1-0), climbs to 3rd place with 35 points.

On the road at AS Bambey (5th, 32 pts), AS Saloum (4th, 34 pts) came back with a valuable point (0-0).

In the mid-table duel, Jamono Fatick (11th, 29 pts) and Ndiambour (14th, 23 pts) drew (1-1).

In the fight to avoid relegation, Port beat Niary Tally (2-1) but remains second to last with 22 points.

In the derby of the railway capital, Amitié FC (12th, 26 pts) and its neighbour Thiès FC (16th, 19 pts) drew (0-0).

The final match of this 23rd round, between Oslo FA and Guelewaars Fatick, will be played this Monday.
