With one matchday remaining in the season, the 29th round of Ligue 2 could prove decisive in both the promotion race and the relegation battle. The clash between Essamaye FC and AS Douanes is the focus of attention, while several other teams are fighting for survival in a tense final sprint.

 

The first promotion spot to Ligue 1 could be decided this Friday at the Aline Sitoé Diatta Stadium with the clash between Essamaye FC (1st, 44 pts) and AS Douanes (3rd, 43 pts). The winner of this match would take a significant step towards promotion to the top flight next season.

This match will be closely watched by Diambars FC. The academy side, who host Ndiambour of Louga (15th, 29 pts), want to take advantage of this clash between contenders to consolidate their second place, which would mean promotion to Ligue 1. However, the task looks difficult for Diambars against a Ndiambour team fighting to avoid relegation.

Still at the top of the table, DUC (4th, 40 pts), which still has a slim hope of joining the promotion train, hosts Port (14th, 29 pts), in search of points to ensure its survival.

At the Massène Sène stadium, Guelewaars FC (5th, 39 pts) hosts Niarry Tally (7th, 39 pts). Both teams, tied on points, intend to fight for promotion until the very end.

AS Saloum (6th, 39 pts) have the same ambition, hosting Jamono Fatick in a Sine-Saloum derby that promises to be explosive between two teams with different objectives.

At the Maniang Soumaré stadium, Thiès FC (16th, 21 pts) hosts Oslo FA (10th, 34 pts). Already relegated to National 1, Thiès FC will try to salvage some pride, while Oslo FA only needs a point to definitively secure their place in the top flight.

Ranked 12th, Amitié FC will also try to secure their survival by hosting Teranga SC (9th, 34 pts), who are also fighting to stay in Ligue 2.

Finally, AS Kaffrine (13th, 32 pts) is also under pressure. Playing away at AS Bambey (8th, 38 pts), Kaffrine cannot afford any mistakes if they want to maintain their place in Ligue 2.
