Ligue des champions : le PSG élimine Monaco, Galatasaray et Jakobs passent dans la douleur
The final four Champions League playoff matches were played on Wednesday. Ibrahim Mbaye's Paris Saint-Germain secured their qualification against AS Monaco, featuring Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta (who was absent). Having won the first leg 3-2, PSG drew the return leg 2-2, a result sufficient to continue their European campaign.
At the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, Real Madrid defeated Benfica Lisbon (2-1). Having already won the first leg (1-0), the Madrid side confirmed their superiority and secured their place in the round of 16.
In Turin, Juventus, who were heavily beaten in the first leg in Istanbul (5-2), managed an impressive comeback in regulation time thanks to Manuel Locatelli (penalty, 45th), Federico Gatti (70th) and Weston McKennie (82nd).
But in extra time, the Turks reduced the deficit through Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen (105th minute), a decisive goal that reignited Galatasaray's hopes. In the dying seconds, Yilmaz sealed the match by scoring Istanbul's second goal (3-2).
Galatasaray, with Ismaïl Jakobs, thus qualified with difficulty but deservedly for the round of 16 of the Champions League.
