LIGUE DES CHAMPIONS : VOICI L’ARBITRE DE LA DEMI-FINALE ALLER PSG-BAYERN MUNICH
Paris Saint-Germain host Bayern Munich this Tuesday evening in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. A Swiss referee will officiate the match.
This is rather good news. UEFA has appointed Swiss referee Sandro Schärer for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between PSG and Bayern this Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.
A referee whom Luis Enrique's men already know, since he officiated the first Champions League match of the season against Atalanta Bergamo, which ended in a resounding 4-0 victory.
NOT A GOOD MEMORY FOR BAYERN
On the German side, however, it's not a fond memory. He officiated the first leg of last year's quarter-final in Munich against Inter Milan. A home defeat (1-2), which meant elimination.
But the 37-year-old referee had also left a bad taste in the mouths of a French club. It was last year during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 between Lille and Borussia Dortmund. At the time, Olivier Létang, president of LOSC Lille, mentioned a "lack of impartiality" linked to his exchanges in German with the opposing players.
There is no doubt that Sandro Schärer will be under intense scrutiny from Parisian fans during the match against Bayern Munich.
