Liverpool : La réponse sèche de Virgil Van Dijk à Mohamed Salah
Liverpool have been in a serious sporting crisis for several weeks. In their last 15 matches, the Reds have lost nine times. While some fans are calling for Arne Slot's dismissal, Mohamed Salah, who was on the bench for the last three games, ignited the situation with a statement in the media before being left out of the squad by his manager for Tuesday's Champions League match against Inter Milan.
Following the controversial remarks made by the Reds' star player, Virgil Van Dijk responded. If he wants to speak, "let him say what he has to say," replied the Liverpool captain.
"It's not like anyone has unlimited credit, everyone has to perform," Van Dijk also said after the midweek draw against Sunderland.
The Dutch captain nevertheless tempered his remarks by emphasizing Salah's importance despite his recent dip in form. "Mo has always performed well, but the manager made this decision during the last two matches. We all want what's best for the club. I'm convinced that Mo will remain a key element of our project, because he's an exceptional player who has proven it time and again."
