Maroc : Le sélectionneur Ouahbi appelle un 29e joueur pour la préparation du mondial 2026
Morocco's national team coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, continues to surprise with his choices for the 2026 World Cup. Twenty-four hours after unveiling an initial list of 28 players for the Atlas Lions' training camp, the Moroccan coach has decided to add a 29th player to the group.
In a statement published this Friday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation officially announced the call-up of Amine Sbai, a first for the 25-year-old winger who plays for Angers SCO.
The player will therefore join the training camp organized from May 22 to 26 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The native of Sidi Kacem (Morocco) has played 27 matches this season, including 25 as a starter, with a record of 4 goals and one assist in the colors of the Black and White.
This call-up represents a great opportunity for the player, who will now have to convince the technical staff in order to secure a place in the final squad for the 2026 World Cup. However, the competition is expected to be fierce in the Moroccan attacking positions.
Mohamed Ouahbi will unveil his final list on May 26, after the scheduled friendly match against Burundi.
