[Match day] CAN 2025 : Le Sénégal face au Botswana pour lancer sa reconquête du titre
Senegal enters the competition this Tuesday at 3pm GMT at the Grand Stadium of Tangier against Botswana, for the first day of Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco-2025. African champions in 2022, the Lions of Teranga begin this competition with the ambition of reconquering a title that eluded them in the previous edition.

During the qualifiers, Botswana defied all expectations by finishing second in their group, behind Egypt, ahead of renowned teams like Mauritania and Cape Verde. This performance has boosted the confidence of a now more ambitious squad.
Led by their star striker Tumisang Orebonye, who plays for Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca, the Botswana national team is relying above all on the strength of the collective and solidarity to try to create an upset against the winners of the 2021 AFCON.
This Senegal-Botswana match is therefore shaping up to be a clash between a favorite seeking to reaffirm its status and an outsider ready to seize its opportunity, hoping to make a strong impression at the start of the 2025 AFCON.
