Mercato : Aston Villa s’intéresse à Dion Lopy
Dion Lopy could take another step in his career during the upcoming summer transfer window. After a convincing season with Almería, the Senegalese international midfielder is on Aston Villa's radar, who would like to secure his services before the start of next season.
At 24, the player, who came through the ranks at Oslo FA, has established himself as a key member of the Andalusian team. Thanks to his consistent performances in the Spanish second division, the powerful midfielder (1.86 m, 80 kg) has seen his value rise in the transfer market and is now attracting the attention of several European clubs.
According to several Spanish media outlets, Aston Villa, recent Europa League winners, have already submitted an initial offer estimated at €17 million. This proposal has been deemed insufficient by Almería's management, who consider the Senegalese international a key player in their squad.
Under contract with the Spanish club until June 2029, Dion Lopy is unlikely to leave Almería for a small fee. The Andalusian club's management are reportedly demanding at least €20 million to even consider a transfer for their midfielder.
