Naples : Aurelio De Laurentiis propose une révolution du football
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has unveiled a series of ambitious proposals aimed at fundamentally transforming football, with the objective of making the game more dynamic and attractive.
In an interview with The Athletic, the Italian executive first pointed to the length of the matches, which he considers excessive. He therefore advocates for the introduction of two 25-minute halves with actual playing time, in order to intensify the spectacle.
De Laurentiis also wants to review the disciplinary system. He proposes to eliminate yellow and red cards in favor of temporary exclusions (five minutes for a foul equivalent to a warning, and twenty minutes for a sending-off).
In terms of the game itself, the Napoli president is calling for adjustments to encourage more goals. He is particularly critical of goals being disallowed for offside positions deemed too marginal, arguing for a more flexible interpretation of the rules.
Finally, he raises concerns about the importance of attracting younger generations. He believes that the future of football depends on its ability to capture the attention of young audiences. He argues that without adapting, the sport could lose its influence.
