Octobre Rose : La Première Dame Absa Faye aux côtés de la LISCA
As part of Pink October, a month dedicated to the fight against cancer, First Lady Absa Faye met with the Senegalese League Against Cancer (LISCA) team on Monday, October 13.
"I met women of goodwill, stories of courage, and above all a chain of solidarity that gives hope to thousands of families," she said happily.
Beyond the Pink October campaign, LISCA carries out essential actions throughout the year: prevention, community awareness, training of midwives, as well as human and financial support for more than 4,500 patients (women, men and children), engaged in the fight against cancer.
The First Lady was keen to praise the "remarkable" work accomplished since the League's relaunch in 2009, as well as the commitment of all those who work every day to save lives.
“Listening to their stories, I realized how important it was to be by their side,” she said.
Ms. Absa Faye reaffirms her full support for LISCA and all of its initiatives. She considers the fight against cancer to be a national cause that concerns everyone.
“Together, we can push back the disease,” she concluded.
