OM : Habib Beye exclut de démissionner après la lourde défaite à Nantes
Olympique de Marseille is going through another turbulent period. This Saturday, the Phocaeans suffered a heavy defeat on the pitch of FC Nantes (3-0) after a worrying performance. Dominated in every aspect of the game, the Marseilles players displayed serious shortcomings, both technically and in terms of commitment.
After the match, Habib Beye didn't try to shirk his responsibilities. But the Marseille coach categorically rejected any idea of giving up despite the unfolding crisis. "When you take on a challenge like this, you don't give up. And I will never resign, unless I am the problem," he stated in the post-match press conference.
"I told the players that I would fight until my last breath. If we have to do it with our difficulties, we will do it. I take responsibility, I don't hide," said the Senegalese coach.
Beye says he accepts the criticism, while pointing out the collective limitations displayed on the field. "This performance is difficult to explain. We completely fell apart and our attitudes were far from blameless," he admits.
