Organisation CAN-2027 : La CAF fixe un deadline au trio Kenya–Ouganda–Tanzanie
Following a meeting described as strategic with various stakeholders, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set a major deadline in the process of organizing the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
After two days of consultations, the governing body of African football announced in a statement that a comprehensive review of the progress of infrastructure will be held in August 2026. A date now considered pivotal for the three host countries: Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
In its statement, CAF emphasizes that "the ministers reaffirmed their government's commitment to ensuring that all facilities meet CAF requirements within the agreed timeframe."
An accelerated roadmap has therefore been adopted, with the objective of meeting the standards required to host the continental competition.
This meeting in August 2026 is therefore crucial. It will allow for a concrete assessment of the level of preparedness of the three countries and, if necessary, for adjustments to be made or for the organization to be withdrawn from this trio.
