Préparation Mondial-2026 : La Côte d’Ivoire surprend la France devant son public
As part of their preparations for the 2026 World Cup, France and Ivory Coast faced off in a friendly match in Nantes on Thursday. The Elephants emerged victorious, mounting a remarkable comeback to defeat Les Bleus in front of their home crowd.
The French team took the lead just before halftime thanks to Rayan Cherki. The attacking midfielder found the back of the net in the 45th minute, allowing his team to go into the break with a one-goal advantage (1-0).
Upon returning from the locker room, the Ivorians displayed a completely different side. More enterprising and aggressive in the duels, they were quickly rewarded. In the 53rd minute, Guéla Doué leveled the score, finishing off a fine attacking move by the Elephants.
Inspired by this equalizer, the Elephants continued to press forward against a less inspired French team.
Just when the match seemed destined for a draw, Amad Diallo emerged in the 84th minute to secure the victory for his team. The Ivorian striker perfectly exploited an opportunity in the French defense to score the second goal, making it 2-1.
France is in Group I of the World Cup with Senegal, Norway and Iraq.
