But just hours before this confrontation, Walid Regragui has to deal with a delicate situation: uncertainty surrounding two pillars of his team.

In a press conference, the Atlas Lions' coach provided an update on the fitness of Sofyan Amrabat and Romain Saïss. Both players have been suffering from injuries since the group stage and had already missed the round of 16 match against Tanzania, a narrow 1-0 victory on January 4th.

For Romain Saïss, the verdict is clear: the central defender will miss the quarter-final. A significant absence, given how valuable his experience and leadership are in big matches.

However, Sofyan Amrabat's situation remains uncertain. The coach still holds a slim hope of being able to count on him, even partially. "We were hoping to have him back, but his ankle still doesn't allow him to be at 100%. He's still in pain. We'll see if we can use him at the end of the match," Regragui explained.

Adding to these uncertainties is the bad news concerning Azzedine Ounahi. Suffering a recurrence of his calf injury, the midfielder is forced to withdraw from the remainder of the competition. This additional loss further complicates the Moroccan coach's plans.

In total, three potential key players could be unavailable for the match against the Indomitable Lions.
