In the wake of the Democratic Republic of Congo's historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup after their victory yesterday in the playoffs against Jamaica (1-0), the Congolese government took an exceptional measure to mark the event.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Labour announced that Wednesday, April 1, 2026 is declared a paid holiday throughout the entire national territory.
