Sa Thiès à Modou Lô : « Ce sera plus rapide que le combat contre Balla Gaye 2 »
Ten days before his highly anticipated match against Modou Lô, scheduled for April 5th at the Pikine National Arena, Sa Thiès is brimming with confidence and clearly aims to dethrone the King of the Arena. After a 17-year career, the wrestler from Guédiawaye believes his time has finally come, stating emphatically: "This is a personal goal. I knew I was going to have a truly epic fight and become King of the Arena."
When questioned by L'Observateur about the recent failures of Ama Baldé, Boy Niang 2 and Siteu against the same opponent, he warns that "Modou Lô is mistaken if he thinks I am like the others", assuring that this singularity will allow him to succeed where his peers have failed.
For this top-of-the-table clash, Balla Gaye 2's younger brother made exceptional sacrifices, isolating himself for eight months. This preparation, punctuated by three daily training sessions, took place in absolute secrecy. "My fans even told me not to do any interviews. I mustn't reveal all my plans," he confided, preferring to let the fans discover his strategy on the day of the fight.
Determined to control the fight from start to finish, Sa Thiès intends to give the titleholder no chance. He promises a lightning-fast finish, asserting that "if Modou Lô doesn't back down, this fight will be quicker than the one against Balla Gaye 2 [which lasted 21 seconds]." Ready to go on the offensive as soon as the referee blows the whistle, he concludes with absolute certainty: "The fight will be over as soon as we get into our first clash. I'm going to knock him down, take the crown, and go back to Guédiawaye."
