Samir Nasri spent about ten hours in police custody, reveals "Le Parisien", as part of a judicial investigation opened for importation of narcotics, association of criminals and money laundering of narcotics importation in an organized gang.

Samir Nasri (39 years old) spent approximately ten hours in police custody on Thursday, July 9, as revealed by Le Parisien, at the premises of the Financial Investigation and Research Brigade (BRIF) of the Paris judicial police. The former midfielder for the French national team, Olympique de Marseille, and Arsenal, now a pundit for Canal+, was questioned as part of a judicial investigation opened for the importation of narcotics, criminal conspiracy, and money laundering related to drug trafficking as part of an organized group.

In this case, and as our colleagues indicate, the two protagonists are Karim Berrebouh, a Marseille drug trafficker imprisoned since 2021, and Olivier Sabbah, presented as one of the pillars of the network for laundering Berrebouh's criminal activities.

Nasri implicated as a former nightclub manager

Samir Nasri is reportedly implicated in the "organized money laundering" aspect of this case as the former manager of "XS," a nightclub in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), of which he became a shareholder around 2016. This detention followed an initial period of police custody in late June in Marseille. It was lifted later that evening, without any legal action being taken against the former international player. Samir Nasri could, however, be summoned for possible indictment.

Former Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri, a tax resident in Dubai where taxes are virtually nonexistent, is also suspected by the French tax authorities of residing in Paris, as revealed by an investigation by Les Échos published in April. He was "betrayed" by more than 200 home meal orders placed through the Deliveroo app.
