Supposés problèmes dans la tanière : le premier vice-président de la Fsf brise le silence !
The Lions of football are currently operating in conditions deemed "very good" at their base camp located in the State of New Jersey, in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup. This was assured on Saturday by the first vice-president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Babacar Ndiaye, who firmly denied reports of dysfunctions within the team.
In an interview with APS, the manager described a logistical and medical setup that he presented as "unprecedented" for the national team. According to him, the players benefit from a tailored diet provided by two Senegalese chefs, supported by a dietician and a nutritionist.
“The conditions are very good. The players eat well. There are two Senegalese chefs (a man and a woman) here. Honestly, there is plenty to eat and drink. Nobody is hungry here,” he stated, rejecting rumors of poor living conditions within the group.
Babacar Ndiaye also emphasized the medical support, mentioning the presence of about ten doctors and osteopaths, as well as additional specialists brought in to supplement the usual team. "In terms of dietetics and physiotherapy, there are 10... We have 10 doctors and 10 osteopaths," he explained, stressing that the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) had "never had anything like this with a national team."
Regarding security and living conditions, the vice-president of the FSF specified that the team is housed in a FIFA-approved, strictly secure hotel.
“No one can enter without a badge. There’s no revelry. The police and FIFA agents are here,” he insisted, while also noting that the families of the players and members of the delegation are being housed in a separate facility.
On the sensitive issue of ticketing, Babacar Ndiaye clarified the role of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), stating that the organization had handed over the available quotas to the diplomatic authorities. "The FSF does not distribute tickets. The quotas are given to the Senegalese embassy in the United States," he explained, while acknowledging the fans' frustration.
The leader finally denounced the dissemination of certain information during the competition, believing it undermines the group's stability. "Even if it's true, those spreading this information are not Senegalese," he declared.
On the sporting front, Senegal will face Norway on Monday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for the second day of Group I. The Lions were beaten in their opening match by France, while Norway won against Iraq, our colleagues remind us.
