Arouna Sanganté franchit un cap important dans sa carrière. Le défenseur central et capitaine du Havre AC quittera le club normand à l’issue de la saison
Arouna Sanganté has reached a significant milestone in his career. The central defender and captain of Le Havre AC will leave the Normandy club at the end of the season, upon the expiration of his contract, to join Sevilla FC. The 23-year-old Senegalese international has signed a five-year contract with the Andalusian club.
Sought after for several months, Sanganté had been on the Spanish club's radar for two years already. Discussions have finally concluded, sealing his departure from Normandy to Spain.
Trained at Le Havre, where he became captain after the promotion to Ligue 1 in the 2023-2024 season, he is preparing to discover a new league and a more demanding environment.
Sevilla FC, seven-time Europa League winners, are banking on a versatile and promising player. A natural centre-back, Sanganté can also play on the right flank. Fast, strong in duels, and with good aerial ability, he has established himself as a pillar of Le Havre's defence.
Beyond his defensive qualities, the native of Mbao also knows how to be decisive offensively, with important goals scored last season, notably against Reims and Auxerre.
However, there are still areas for improvement for him, particularly in decision-making and managing certain sequences, not to mention some physical setbacks that had slowed his momentum, especially in the selection process in March 2024.
FC Sevilla has thus secured the services of a player with strong potential, recognized for his seriousness and mentality, and who still has considerable room for improvement at this stage of his career.
