Weekend for Senegalese players abroad: Bamba Dieng scores, Lamine Camara and Pape Demba Diop shine, Nicolas Jackson sees red

Several Senegalese footballers playing abroad distinguished themselves this weekend on European and Asian pitches. Bamba Dieng scored for Lorient, while Lamine Camara and Pape Demba Diop also shone for their respective clubs. However, Nicolas Jackson was sent off during the Bayern Munich-Bayer Leverkusen match.

Just days before the announcement of the list for the friendly matches against Gambia and Peru, several Senegalese internationals distinguished themselves on European pitches this weekend.

In French Ligue 1 , during Matchday 26, Bamba Dieng distinguished himself with FC Lorient by opening the scoring in their 2-1 victory against Lens. At the Stade Louis-II, AS Monaco, with Lamine Camara in their ranks, defeated Stade Brestois 2-0. The Senegalese midfielder played a key role, providing an assist for Monaco's first goal, scored by Balogun in the 29th minute.

In the all-Senegalese clash, Pape Demba Diop's Toulouse FC secured a 4-3 victory away to Habib Diallo's FC Metz. Starting in midfield, Diop provided the assist for Toulouse's opening goal. However, Diallo, who came on in the 70th minute, was unable to prevent his team's defeat.

On the road in Strasbourg, Moustapha Mbow's Paris FC came away with a valuable point (0-0). Meanwhile, Le Havre, with its Senegalese contingent of Mory Diaw, Arouna Sanganté, Rassoul Ndiaye, and Issa Soumaré all in the starting lineup, were held to a draw by Moussa Niakhaté's Olympique Lyonnais.

The match between Ibrahim Mbaye's PSG and FC Nantes was postponed. Nice, with Yehvann Diouf and Antoine Mendy in the starting lineup, secured a 2-0 victory away at Angers.

In England, on matchday 30, Chelsea, without Mamadou Sarr who remained on the bench, lost at home to Newcastle (0-1). Playing away at Liverpool, Tottenham, with Pape Matar Sarr in the starting lineup, ended a run of five defeats by holding the Reds to a draw (1-1). Everton, with Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye in the starting eleven, lost to league leaders Arsenal (2-0). Sunderland, with Habib Diarra in the starting lineup, lost at home to Brighton (0-1). At home, West Ham, with El Hadj Malick Diouf in the starting eleven, held Manchester City to a draw (1-1), while Crystal Palace, with Ismaïla Sarr in the starting eleven, earned a point away at Leeds United (0-0).

In the 26th round of Bundesliga matches, Nicolas Jackson's Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw by Bayer Leverkusen. Starting up front, the Senegalese international was sent off in the 42nd minute.

In Turkey , on matchday 26, Galatasaray, with Ismail Jakobs in the lineup, defeated Istanbul Başakşehir 3-0. The Lions' left-back watched the match from the bench. Meanwhile, Samsunspor, without their striker Chérif Ndiaye, beat Kayserispor 2-1.

In Belgium , for the 29th matchday, Anderlecht, with Ilay Camara in the starting lineup, lost on the pitch of KV Mechelen (1-0).

In Italy , Como, with Assane Diao coming on in the 46th minute, defeated AS Roma 2-1 in Matchday 29. Udinese, with Idrissa Gueye entering the game in the 84th minute, lost at home to Juventus 1-0. Hellas Verona, without Cheikh Tidiane Niasse who remained on the bench, were beaten 2-0 at home by Genoa. Lazio, with Boulaye Diaj in the lineup, defeated AC Milan 1-0. The Senegalese striker entered the game in the 67th minute. Cremonese, with Mikayil Ngor Faye, host Fiorentina this Monday.

In Spain , for the 28th matchday of La Liga, Villarreal, with Pape Gueye in the starting lineup, drew 1-1 against Alavés. Rayo Vallecano, featuring Pathé Ciss and Nobel Mendy, face Levante at home this Monday.

In Saudi Arabia , the battle between Senegalese teams for the league title continues. League leaders Al-Nassr (1st, 67 pts), without Sadio Mané, secured a resounding 5-0 victory away to Al-Khaleej. Al-Hilal (2nd, 64 pts), featuring Kalidou Koulibaly, also triumphed, defeating Al-Fateh 1-0. However, Al-Ahli, with captain Édouard Mendy in the lineup, suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat against Al-Qadsiah. With this loss, Édouard Mendy and his teammates now trail Sadio Mané's Al-Nassr by five points.
