The Islamic Institute of Dakar hosted the 7th edition of the national Quran recitation competition in an atmosphere of fervor, organized by the Senico group as part of the Senico Grand Prix 2026. Launched on Monday, February 23, 2026, the competition is still underway as we write these lines, bringing together young reciters from different regions of Senegal for an event that has become an essential part of the religious and educational calendar.

Young talents paraded before the watchful eyes of their families, their Quranic teachers, and an international jury. On February 24th, the second day of Quran recitation, twelve candidates took turns delivering their performances, their sacred verses resonating in an atmosphere of concentration and solemnity. The previous day, thirteen other competitors had already opened the competition, bringing the total number of reciters auditioned for this 2026 edition to twenty-five.

Valuing excellence in memorizing and chanting the sacred text, the competition has taken on an international dimension with the presence of jury members from Morocco, Algeria, Somalia and Tunisia, tasked with evaluating accuracy, mastery of tajwid and quality of recitation.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Senico's Managing Director, Mouhamed Dia, as well as several group officials, illustrating the company's commitment to religious education and the transmission of spiritual values.

Beyond its competitive aspect, the Senico Grand Prix has established itself over the years as a true showcase of Quranic knowledge in Senegal, offering young reciters a platform of excellence while contributing to the promotion of a tradition deeply rooted in society. This 7th edition confirms, once again, the enthusiasm surrounding Quranic learning and the desire to support the talents who perpetuate this spiritual heritage.
