According to a diplomatic source from APS, the head of the Chinese government promised to "encourage Chinese companies to invest massively in Senegal in the areas of agriculture, digital security, industrial and technological development."
Li Qiang also invited Chinese investors to "explore the immense potential that Senegal has," according to a note from Senegalese diplomacy.
The discussions between the two delegations focused on priority areas of cooperation for the two countries.
According to the same source, “Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko requested and obtained China's support in the implementation of Vision Senegal 2050.”
Li Qiang also confirmed China's participation in the Economic Forum planned for Dakar, while recalling that more than thirty economic and social projects have already been carried out in Senegal with Chinese support. He particularly welcomed the achievements in the fields of health and sports, while expressing his country's desire to "grant more places in its universities to Senegalese students."
Responding favorably to a request from his Senegalese counterpart, the Chinese Prime Minister also gave his approval for the upcoming establishment in Senegal of a Luban Workshop, a Chinese vocational and technical training center already present in several countries.
