Abdourahmane Sarr non reconduit : « Les fonctions publiques passent. Les idées demeurent »
Abdourahmane Sarr is leaving the government. He was not reappointed as Minister of Economy, Planning, and Cooperation following the cabinet reshuffle that took place yesterday, Monday, June 1st. "In leaving my position as Minister of Economy, Planning, and Cooperation today, I feel above all gratitude towards the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and his former Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, for the trust placed in me and the opportunity given to serve Senegal in the government," he wrote on his Facebook page this Tuesday.
However, the former minister took stock of his record during his term. According to him, this includes the development and implementation of the Senegal 2050 Vision in its five-year plan 2025-2029, the National Strategy for Private Sector Development and Investment Promotion, the National Strategy for Economic and Financial Cooperation, and the strengthening of transparency and macroeconomic debate while respecting the principles of sovereignty.

In addition to promoting public-private partnerships, particularly through asset recycling, developing innovative approaches to development financing, especially through the diaspora, and consolidating a territorial vision based on the potential of development hubs, their epicenter cities, and their twinning with partners.
Abdourahmane Sarr suggests that these projects do not belong to him. "They belong to Senegal and must continue to be carried out and enriched by those who are currently responsible for leading public action," he affirms.
The former minister reiterated his "convictions that have driven him for many years": "economic freedom, responsibility, macroeconomic discipline, private initiative, competition, innovation, and economic sovereignty," he said.
He added: "Public offices come and go. Ideas remain. I will continue to serve Senegal with the same energy, the same freedom of spirit, and the same confidence in the capabilities of our people."
